Turtles and Mantas and Sharks, oh my!

The morning was filled with history as we explored Lapakahi State Historical Park and Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site. We snacked on poke and Kalua pork at a famous kava coffee shop. We then went to Jack's Diving Locker where we geared up for a night manta ray dive and boy was it spectacular! Within minutes of shining our flashlights to attract plankton at about 40 feet of water, manta rays started coming into the area. They were giants and one brushed across Chris's head. It was quite crowded and we just sat for about 40 minutes underwater at the sandy bottom looking at these huge beautiful creatures. This was our first night dive (at least for Jackson and me) and it was
unforgettable. Lots of eels and other wildlife. The only thing that went wrong is I put my palm on top of a sea urchin and still have a few spikes that will take time to heal like splinters. Another beautiful day.
