Oh, Maui...

This morning we left the Big Island fairly early and landed in Kahului airport in Maui around 10 am. The views from the prop plane throughout the 35 minute flight were dreamy. We made a stop at the Surfing Goat Dairy, where we petted and fed the goats and enjoyed a little tour and samples of their award-winning goat cheese. Before we left, I also tried a scoop of the lilikoi (passion fruit-flavored) goat cheese gelato. Simply delicious.
Recommended by a number of people and guide books, we ate lunch at a place called Mama's Fish House. This was our splurge meal for the entire trip. Chris surprised me with a flower lei and card given to me by the hostess of the restaurant. Lunch included several courses and we tried a lot of new things, including poi. Not a big fan, but at least we sampled it.
This may seem ridiculous, but I was actually happy to go to a grocery store and get food for our four days here. We are staying at a condo with a full kitchen and I'm looking forward to cooking some simple meals instead of eating out for three meals a day.  This also may have been the first evening we actually sat down to watch some TV in 9 days. After searching for the boat ramp where we meet our dive boat tomorrow morning, I was pleased to discover that it is just one block from our condo.
