"Welcome to Jurassic Park"

We had the most incredible day beginning with a helicopter ride over the Na Pali Coast of Kauai this morning. After a hike in Kuilau Ridge and hula with music and mai tais, plus dinner watching the sunset, I am running out of words to describe how beautiful and relaxing this island (and the entire trip) has been.
If this is what retirement is like, count me in.
Sunset over our hotel
Dinner with the men in my
life
Hula and guitar by the pool
Wailua River
After Chris's boot camp: a 2 mile hike through Kuilau Ridge. Then 2 miles back. Yeah, it was tame. See yesterday's hike for why I'm ridiculously tired after only 4 miles today. There must be a massage in my future...
Chris took this pic at the sunrise ceremony around 5:45 a.m.  Those of you that know him are not shocked he was up...
Me eating breakfast on our porch at 7:45...a more reasonable hour on vacation
All these pics are from the helicopter ride. Pilot Brody from Blue Hawaiian company (highly recommend them) played various appropriate music at the right moments, then narrated. He was born in Kauai. For example, he said "Welcome to Jurassic Park" and cued the opening music to the movie. Several of the movies were actually filmed here. I almost cried, it was so pretty. Seriously.

View from the hotel. I am so very lucky. What a day.
