Climbing the Walls

We celebrated our last full day in Park City by sleeping in (until 8 am--no alarm clocks) and going indoor rock climbing at Momentum in Salt Lake City.  The kids really tested their strength and nerve, moving up a straight wall 5 stories up.  Jackson also challenged himself by maneuvering across some other structures since this was not his first time.  Chris acted as a Belay (rope holder and safety backup) on the ground.  I watched as they climbed for almost 3 hours.  A beautiful day with two great kids and their dedicated dad/uncle.  Tomorrow:  Grand Canyon-bound!  It is pouring down there and the rain is expected to last through Friday at lunchtime.  So grateful that we aren't there just yet. Hiking in the rain is no fun, plus there have been flash flood warnings the past 5 days.  All should be A-OK by the time we arrive.  I cannot WAIT!

Cooling off at Menchie's after "Purgatory" wings at Wing Nutz.
Jackson, a.k.a. "Spidey"
I tried not to act nervous when Jackson let go to wave.
Kyle was persistent and reached the top.
Jackson on his way down.  "Dad, you sure you got the rope, right?"
On the practice wall with one of the staff members.
He taught Jackson how to act as the Belay, also.
The sauce was so hot, Chris was crying.
